NEW — Practicl now reads application notes and firmware release notes every answer cited to the page built for photonics, semiconductor and precision instruments
Security & trust

Secure documentation AI, grounded in your own documents

A Practicl pilot runs on your public datasheets, manuals, and application notes — files already on your downloads page, not your crown jewels. Answers come only from those documents, with no training on your data and no hallucination: every claim is grounded in the source and cited to the page. That’s why it starts in days, not quarters of security review.

01 / Data handling

Three commitments on your data, no training on your data

  1. 01

Your data is never used to train models.

Your documents and your customers’ questions stay in your workspace. They inform answers about your products — nothing else, for no one else. No model is ever trained on them.

  2. 02

    SOC 2 compliant infrastructure.

Practicl runs on infrastructure that maintains SOC 2 compliance: encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging.

  3. 03

    EU data residency available.

Workspaces can be provisioned with EU data residency. We’re an Irish company, so this is a default option, not an afterthought.

  4. 04

    Conversations are deleted, not archived.

Practicl retains conversation records for ninety days from last use, after which they are removed permanently rather than flagged as deleted.

02 / Accuracy

How answers are kept honest

A wrong number about an instrument breaks something downstream, so accuracy isn’t a tuning preference — it’s the architecture. Practicl answers only from your documents, preserves exact values like ±0.1 nm and a 30-min warm-up, keeps each spec’s conditions attached, and validates every answer before it ships. Four mechanisms, in order:

  1. 01

    Grounding

Answers are composed only from your ingested documents, never from the model’s general knowledge — so there is no hallucination, and exact values are preserved down to the units and tolerances.

  2. 02

    Citations

Every claim links to document, revision, and exact page. One click opens that page in a side-by-side viewer, so anyone can check the source.

  3. 03

    Refuse to guess

If the source doesn’t cover it, Practicl declines rather than guessing and routes the question to your applications team. Declines are logged as documentation gaps.

  4. 04

    Validation pass

Before an answer ships, a second automated pass checks it against the cited passages — numbers, units, and conditions must match, or the answer doesn’t go out.

03 / Where we are, honestly

The compliance roadmap

today
SOC 2 compliant infrastructure; encryption in transit and at rest; EU data residency available; no training on customer data.
on the roadmap
Practicl’s own SOC 2 certification is in progress. We’ll publish the report when it’s issued — not before.

We’d rather state exactly where we are than round up. Questions about our security posture: ask directly.
