Terms of service
Read this first
Practicl answers only from the documents you provide and declines when the source is silent — but its answers are generated automatically and are not a substitute for your own engineering judgement. You are responsible for verifying any specification, tolerance or procedure against the cited source before acting on it. See section 05.
01 · Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Practicl, provided by APixTec Limited (CRO 789850) (“Practicl”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, uploading documents, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind it. Where a signed order form or master agreement exists between us, that agreement controls if it conflicts with these terms.
02 · What Practicl does
Practicl ingests technical documents you provide, and answers questions about them with page-level citations, through an embeddable widget, a web workspace and shareable links. It answers only from your documents, preserves values as written, and declines questions the source does not cover. Features and plans may change as described on our pricing page.
03 · Eligibility and accounts
Practicl is a business product for organisations and their users. You must be at least 16 and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for activity under your account, and for ensuring your end users’ use complies with these terms.
04 · Your content
You retain all rights in the documents and other content you provide (“Customer Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process and display Customer Content solely to provide the service to you. You represent that you have the rights necessary to upload your documents and that doing so does not infringe any third party’s rights or violate any export-control or confidentiality obligation. We do not use Customer Content to train models.
05 · Accuracy and engineering judgement
Practicl is designed to answer only from your documents, to preserve values exactly, to cite the page, and to decline rather than guess. Even so, answers are generated automatically and may contain errors, and the quality of an answer depends on the documents you provide. Answers are provided for information only and are not professional, engineering, safety or legal advice. You are solely responsible for verifying any specification, tolerance, procedure or safety-critical information against the cited source and applicable standards before relying on it. Do not use Practicl as the sole basis for a decision that could result in injury, equipment damage or regulatory non-compliance.
06 · Acceptable use
You agree not to: upload content you do not have the right to use; attempt to access other tenants’ data or circumvent security or rate limits; reverse-engineer or resell the service except as permitted; use the service to build a competing product; or use it unlawfully, including in violation of export-control or sanctions laws. We may suspend access to protect the service or other customers.
07 · Fees
Paid plans are described on our pricing page or in an order form. Fees are due as stated there, are exclusive of taxes unless noted, and are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly agreed. We may change fees on renewal with reasonable notice.
08 · Intellectual property
We and our licensors own all rights in the Practicl platform, software and brand. Except for the limited right to use the service under these terms, no rights are granted to you. You own your Customer Content and the answers generated from it for your use. Feedback you give us may be used to improve the service without obligation to you.
09 · Confidentiality and privacy
Each party will protect the other’s confidential information and use it only to perform under these terms. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy policy. Where we process personal data on your behalf, our data processing agreement applies.
10 · Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may perform maintenance or update features. Any specific availability commitments will be set out in a service-level agreement if one applies to your plan.
11 · Warranties and disclaimers
Except as expressly stated, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and any warranty that answers will be accurate, complete or error-free.
12 · Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amounts you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13 · Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your Customer Content or your use of the service in breach of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.
14 · Term and termination
These terms apply while you use the service. Either party may terminate for material breach that is not cured within a reasonable period; you may stop using the service at any time. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we will delete or return your Customer Content as described in the Privacy policy. Sections that by their nature should survive — including content ownership, disclaimers, liability limits and indemnity — survive termination.
15 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence.
16 · Changes and contact
We may update these terms; we will change the date above and, for material changes, give notice through the service. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions? Contact us at legal@practicl.io or through our contact page.
